Seeing What’s There

There was a time when I was blind to the beauty around me.  Everything was a blur as I traveled on planes, rode in taxis, and rushed to meetings.

I still travel and am busy with my work but now I try to notice what is around me.  Sometimes it’s as simple as a well kept ladies room in a busy airport (now that’s a treat!).  And at other times it’s something that touches my heart – like this cardinal in a crab apple tree outside our home a few days ago.

I could have easily missed this little creature, sitting quietly on a cold New England winter’s morning, unknowingly creating a work of art – but I didn’t – and it’s given me joy ever since.

What are you not seeing that is right there – waiting to make you happy?
